Cheryl A. Steele. Ph.D.

Children’s Book Author/Educator

Main Focus:  Education…of all ages. My career as an educator has included opportunities to work with all ages, all professions, and in a variety of venues. My children’s books and the lessons/messages they contain are targeted at a young audience, but the “learning” hopefully occurs across all generations as the stories are shared and enjoyed. I hope to encourage creative thinking, celebration of diversity, positive self-concept and the joy of reading in my audience.

Children’s Books:  (1) What if…Questions to Delight and Inspire Children (This book comes with  activities, additional resources, extra questions, correlations to OK Priority Academic Student Skills        K-5…all free) (2) All About Me…Who I Am and Can Be (This is a flipbook with a different story on each side of the book.)  (3) A Mouse in God’s House (currently in production…release fall 2009)

Note: All books have terrific illustrations and come with a free audio download. All books also have a coloring book available for purchase as well.

Offerings:  I often work with children in school or other settings….reading and discussing the stories to meet a variety of teacher goals. I also often speak to parent and civic groups about the importance of reading, creative thinking, etc……particularly in this fast-paced, wonderfully technological, focused-on-achievement world we live in. These sessions can be a brief talk or a workshop format. I also talk with teacher groups to affirm the importance of creative activities---as a way to increase both academic achievement as well as enjoyment in learning.
