NORM BOND is recognized as an international authority on marketing, corporate diversity, sales, and multicultural issues. He has a broad business, technical, and communications background. Today he focuses on helping a select group of clients gain market share, build new avenues for revenue growth, and achieve their marketing and sales objectives, specifically within the African American and Urban markets. He is also President of the Philadelphia Chapter of NAMD (National Alliance of Market Developers).  He worked as an independent producer for a Philadelphia based video production company, where he conceptualized and produced customized DVD's, promotional videos, and other digital media products for various clients. His seventeen years in big ticket marketing and sales positions include nearly five years as a marketing specialist with the IBM Corporation.

 

In 1999 he founded, created and organized the first-ever National Diversity Week®.  In January of 1996, his firm launched NEXT STEP Magazine, the first internationally distributed, quarterly publication, focused on the topic of diversity. In 1995 he co-founded the Philadelphia-based, diversity media group, Next Step Enterprises, Inc. The company later introduced NEXT STEP ONLINE.

 

His clients have included Microsoft, Cingular Wireless, DaimlerChrysler and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  For five years he served as an advisory member of the Diversity Analysis Research Team (DART), a collaborative effort between Pitney Bowes Corporation, the SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management, and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Bond earned an undergraduate degree with a dual major in business and economics.  He also holds a master’s degree in information science, both from the University of Pittsburgh.
