Background
Carol Hamilton was appointed Poet Laureate of Oklahoma by the governor in January, 1995. She was 1982 Teacher of the year for Mid-Del Schools. She has taught in the Creative Studies Division of the University of Central Oklahoma, and Spanish at Rose State College.
A very prolific author, Carol has published articles, short stories, and poetry in the U.S., England, Canada, Puerto Rico, India, Hawaii, and Australia. Her books include:
The Dawn Seekers (for ages 8-12)
Winner of the 1998 Southwest Book Award and included in 4th grade readers for D.C. Heath.

Main Focus
Carol teaches respect for diversity as a writer, a storyteller, and a musician. She offers programs with traditional instruments from Poland and Bolivia. This very versatile teacher also leads workshops for all ages using Greek myths, Spanish stories and astronomy.
