Debbie Langston
Diversity Artist
Background
Debbie has worked in a variety of arts centers and educational facilities, including the Oklahoma City Art Museum, City Arts Center in OKC, and the Firehouse Art Center in Norman. She is a Guest Artist with the Norman Arts and Humanities Council. She currently serves as an adjunct professor in drawing at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, and is an Artist-In-Residence for the Oklahoma Arts Institute.
Main Focus
Debbie designs diversity art activities to fit the situation and curriculum. She teaches a variety of subjects, including drawing, painting, mixed-media projects, printmaking and weaving. She creates a relaxed and acceptable learning atmosphere in which students can experience personal creativity and expand their capacity for self-expression.
Offerings
Other art projects include: dream catchers, marbeling, papermaking, wands, frames, stitchery, doll-making, flags, shields, ornaments, totems, jewelry, dioramas, quilt-making, calendars, wreaths, wire sculpture, mosaics, wood sculpture, collage, basket-making, paper sculpture, and box constructions.
Debbie works well with all ages and facilitates teacher in-service training.
