Background
Erma is a retired teacher of speech, English, and journalism. She served as a high school media director for 22 years. Erma received extensive training and experience while in college in both drama and debate, representing her college at the West Point Nationals. She combines her speaking talent with her techniques of extensive research to develop character portrayals that make the audience feel that she is truly that person she is portraying.
Erma has been performing historical reenactments for 10 years.
Offerings
Historical portrayals currently include:
Eleanor Roosevelt (world advocate of human rights)
Franklin and Eleanor (the world’s most influential couple)
Carry Nation (the hatchet-wielding saloon smasher)
Alice Paul (gave to thousands of women the essence of freedom)
Bella Abzug (a fighter for justice and peace, equal rights, human dignity, and environmental integrity)
Any of these portrayals would lead to discussion on leadership qualities, human rights, laws of our country, international law, environment, etc. The portrayals can be adapted to various subjects of interest. Emphasis and discussion can be placed on what that woman did for the world in that capacity at that time in history.
Availability
Erma has performed at national, state, and district conventions, Town Halls, book clubs, civic clubs, Chautauqua, political organizations. fund raisers, churches and schools.
Erma has taken her portrayals to many parts of Oklahoma as well as Missouri, Arkansas, California, North Carolina, Louisiana, Michigan and other states.
